Hope Afloat USA is a dragon boat team for breast cancer survivors. Our mission is to help survivors of breast cancer make positive emotional, spiritual, and physical changes in their lives through the ancient sport of Dragon Boat Racing. We provide women, regardless of age or athletic ability, with hope, support, camaraderie and adventure, and the knowledge that they can lead active, full lives after a breast cancer diagnosis.

Ithaca Gorges Dragons

Ithaca Gorges Dragons was formed in 2004, the only competitive dragon boat team in Upstate/Central New York. It is made up of folks from middle school students to retirees with different paddling experiences. We follow our philosophy of openness, inclusiveness, and, most importanty, having Fun together!

Pink Lightning

Lake Parsippany, NJ

Pink Lightning is a breast cancer survivor team composed of survivors and supporters. This will be our first season as the new team. We practice at Lake Parsippany and welcome any woman who wants to learn to paddle!

Pittsburgh Hearts of Steel

We are Pittsburgh’s Hearts of Steel Dragon Boat team and we are breast cancer survivors and supporters. We are foremost sisters but we are also fierce competitors. We race to WIN. We practice three times per week in the shadow of the “City of Champions” skyline. Our team is five years old (due to COVID-19, racing in our fourth year was scratched similar to everyone else) and we look forward in continuing to make our mark on the dragon boat “community”. Our team took 1st both in 2017 and 2018 in the Breast Cancer Survivor Division. We are so excited to be coming back and hope to secure a coveted win in the very competitive Women’s Division. This is such a great event and super venue!

Philadelphia Flying Phoenix Fire is one of four competitive crews that make up the Philadelphia Flying Phoenix Dragon Boat Team. Philadelphia Flying Phoenix is an all women's team that has been paddling on the beautiful Schuylkill River since 2003. All team members share a passion for dragon boating and enjoy the camaraderie  and support that being a team member provides.

The Queen Bees were formed in 2019 by some former Witches of East Greenwich who were ready to spread their wings and start their own hive. The team is comprised of their friends and colleagues who are looking forward to finally hitting the water again.

Relentless Premier Women

The Premier Women’s team is a dedicated, enthusiastic, and competitive crew that promotes friendship, camaraderie and a passion for the sport of dragon boating. The team's home is on the beautiful Delaware River in New Hope, PA. Although we have been paddling strong for over 10 years since our organization’s inception in 2009, we look forward to welcoming new members to our group. As a team we take pride in our friendship and accomplishments and look forward to the 2021 season.

Relentless Warriors is a competitive mixed team formed in 2017 and is made up of men and women with paddling experience ranging from newcomer novices to 10 years or more... all paddling together because this is such a fun, team oriented sport.

River Sisters

Team Bio: The River Sisters is a women’s dragon boat team. We are a diverse group of cancer survivors of various ages and backgrounds, athletic abilities and fitness levels. We have gained a passion for the ancient art of dragon boating and we meet weekly between May and October at the Camden County Boathouse to paddle on the Cooper River. We have fun as we practice and compete in various dragon boat festivals each season. Our mission is to raise awareness about all kinds of cancers and to show others who are weakened by the struggle of cancer that there is life after this disease. We started out as strangers with only our disease in common. Now we are a floating support group of women who want to share our passion for life with other cancer survivors, their families and friends. We encourage all women living with cancer to look to a future filled with strength, enthusiasm and hope.

Twisted Sisters

Twisted Sisters has been part of this festival for five years. There has been a core group of women who have participated every year while adding new friends each time. Our group this year contains amazing women ranging from age 13 to 70+, including three generations paddling together. Moms, daughters, aunts, grandmothers and great grandmothers all coming together for a amazing day of fun surrounded by the most supportive community.

The Wicked Warriors of East Greenwich was founded in 2019 by a group of former Witches of East Greenwich dragon boat captains, that wanted to continue to spread magic on the river and throughout the community. We are a local non-profit raising money for a voted upon local charity each year.
